Cascina San Maiolo has adhered since 1995 to the Guidelines for low environmental impact agriculture sustained by the EU through the Regulation 2078/92, and was one of the first rice producers to obtain the Global G.A.P. Certification. 
We can state that our rice is integrated management because fertilization and crop defense are enabled through:
• rotation of crops;
• monitoring of weeds by mechanical means and, only when necessary, by using herbicides which are selected within a short list of products and always used at the lowest dose;
• use of over 80% of organic fertilizer.

Also the ensuing stages are developed according to quality and sustainability. Our rice:
• is dried using renewable energy provided by solar panels installed in the very farm;
• is processed by using traditional methods, with no additives and immediately packed in order to preserve its flavour and fragrance;
• is vacuum-packed in order to guarantee its integrity and fragrance for 24 months;
• is labelled with recycled paper to fully respect the nature of the product.
